Now I have a Snow Blower! Ho! Ho! Ho!
Specifically, I finally got around to test fitting the ramp basket I bought ($65), and see if it would work with the blower. It does.

Now we just need some snow!

Dude with the PT Cruiser I'm interested in and been chatting with since November just told me $1000 and it's mine. it's got some issues. some cosmetics, possibly needs a clutch, and it might need a short block. 3 out of 4 cylinders are way down on compression (half or less.) Ball park another grand to do all that.

would need to de-plow-ify the jeep to go get it.
Don’t take this the wrong way but a $1000 for a rough PT that needs an engine is way too much money. They are not an easy car to change an engine on.

Dude. We can do that with our hitch? I’d be super interested if I could confirm the bumpy choppy snow roads during our storms wouldn’t cause that to snap off

Best I can say is i've hung a lot off the hitch on mine, and so far no issues. my 4-timer bike rack when loaded down certainly isn't light, and there's the car trailer i've tugged. one of the things I do is I make sure to clamp the draw bar, so it's not rattling around in the receiver. that way you don't get a bunch of impact stress on things.

also, don't drive like you're running the Dakar. :D

My jeep eats speed sensors. One a year. Usually around December / January. Harness was replaced and is not compromised by any means. Just dead sensors : or cuts in and out.

So this is the one that sits ontop of the rear end. Curious as to why they call it the ABS sensor across various sites. My jeep does not have ABS but I would have assumed the ABS gets its signal from the sensor on the hubs/bearings
Had this problem. Spent months and hundreds troubleshooting. Had numerous out of tolerance sensors too.

Turns out, if it is eating sensors the Wheel bearing(s) bad, even if there are no other symptoms. Highly suggest replacing both assemblies with Moog.
remember, if the tone ring is even a millimeter out for tolerance, it's gonna grind the face off and hall effects don't like that.
Inexpensive and easy to do yourself. What you spend on a new pair of moogs is less than replacing sensors only all the time.

That reminds me, I need to replace my circa 1978 Airens 36" dual stage...it died like five years ago and we haven't had real snow since then....keep forgetting!

I haul 500lbs on my cheapo harbor frieght tailhitch platform mounted to the OE/recall hitch all the time...off road...in the desert.

Just gotta have the proper OME suspension.
Check your vin on the recall, free tow hitch from the stealership. rear lower control arms too.

Took advantage of unseasonably warm weather and installed the second Odyssey AGM with a rigged ridge relay kit. Installed a 160amp alternator Also installed the wiring harness for 100W of solar and 100W of Wind. All off road lighting is now Oz save for my amber flashers.
My dream of operating lab equipment in the field is now complete...

Necessary evil as I bought a MinION portable DNA sequencer for work. Also purchased a Zeiss UV/Fluorescence microscope and one of those micro PCs and a 32" class HD monitor. Can now fully process my samples in the field. No more waiting weeks for results, or storing/shipping samples back home when I am travelling...and can watch shows and stuff those days the weather is bad and I gotta hang at base camp.

Now I just gotta swap out the the LEDs in the cheapo NiLight (complete, unreliable garbage failures and serious dimming after only a year) spots with UV(blacklight) and 425nm chips to make insect collection at night even easier.

Yea I’ve always seen a coolers and some luggage on those racks but what a game changer that could be if could move my snow blower around. :)

Appreciate the effort to help but my jeep doesn’t have ABS or sensors in the bearings. This is my 2002. The speed sensor I’m referring to sits ontop of the rear dif (same as the 03 with abs as the abs sensors on wheels bearings)
My rant was how poorly labeled , described and listed this part was and the even the pigtail for it.

I haven’t even seen my jeep today. I have been getting a ride for work, lately.. It’s been that way since early December. I’ve filled up three times since December 1st, and the third was on Friday. It seems to be appreciating the break.

kicking it out of the garage bay today, to work on mom's car when she gets here. also need it out of the way to clean the garage up.
was going to leave it out for a couple days, but rain's coming thursday so I won't be able to unpack the kid's car and roll it in until that passes.

Car sounded like I was summoning something from hell while driving, so I replaced the A/C compressor, water pump and the tensioner/idler pulleys. Intended on also doing the fluids today but it appears that the last mechanic that worked on this used an ugga dugga on the sump plug and after futzing with it for a little while I gave up and called it a day. I'll probably have to hammer on an extractor to the bolt now.

Spending some money on important maintenance today that can’t be deferred. I would do a lot of this myself IF I had the TIME. But time is money today.

- New pads and rotors installed on all 4 wheels
- Brake flush (fluid looked nasty & had particles)
- McGard solid steel lug nuts installed
- Alignment (steering wheel was off center & was wearing the outside tread of passengers side front tire)
- Front and rear diff service (embarassed to say the last time was was at 92K miles, in 2014)

Current mileage: 204,***.

An engine oil change is due too, but I can bang that out myself on Saturday. Already have the oil & filter.

New front calipers and hoses arrived today, I looked for a 'How to' regarding the hoses but couldn't find anything. Is there anything I need to know before embarking?

and work the fittings back and forth after you spray them, to help loosen them up before you start going for a full removal.
also, you're going to get messy.
