Busy day today - installed the amp for my sub, put a new set of door speakers in, and installed a Dynomax muffler.

I'm throwing a new exhaust kit on my 07 later this week. I wish I still had the bolt-on flange seen in the right hand side of your picture. Previous owner lost it at some point and cut it out. Makes looking for mufflers that much harder.

This is my issue… Movable parts that are immobile… Joy oh joy! With how they’re seized, I’d have to pull the axle to get it out.

was that sitting at the bottom of a lake for a couple decades? I'm in the salt capital east coast and my stuff has NEVER looked that bad.

RE-installed the battery tray (this is really part of my front diff replacement saga but I will save it for what is, hopefully, the final "wrap up" installment). This was my 2nd attempt, a couple of weeks ago I didn't get round to it 'til too late in the day & gave in to failing light & falling temperatures. Today, I nearly gave up twice (perhaps not really in the right frame of mind), I couldn't believe what a pantomime it was: it's such a difficult, clumsy shape & seems much too large for the available space, It was so long since I removed it, I couldn't remember what went where or how I'd done it and it's complicated by the LPG (think CNG) conversion which means not only is there more wiring & plumbing in that fairly crowded corner but one component is on a bracket bolted the back "wall" of the tray & its own ECU is bolted to the front panel in front of where the tray goes. Anyway it's back in now - with 3 bolts instead if 1 (I found one lodged down on the frame, although didn't recognise it for what it was at the time & used an M6 flange nut & repair washer on the remaining stud.
However, I'm not happy with where the harnesses are routed so will remove the PDC next weekend (I hope that's all that'll be necessary) & tuck all that wire under it, instead of running along the front lip of the tray.

I wish it was just the rack. Had to do the rad stack, pump and hoses too. Sure made it easier to maneuver around In there with all that stuff out.

Ended up having to drop the control arms to drop the front diff. Once I did that it was smooth sailing.

These things sure seem to go back together easier than they come apart.

MIL appeared on the JK’s dash. Stopped by Autozone for a quick read. Clerk wanted me to buy the first part on the diagnosis list. Told her that I prefer to figure out what’s really bad vs throwing parts at it.

Turns out the gas cap wasn’t properly tightened. lol It got put on cockeyed by some dummy.

You never have to drop control arms to remove the front diff , huge waste of time

What’s your trick? I tried just removing the front cam bolt from each lca and pry the lca down to get that front diff bolt out but couldn’t get the clearance. Hopefully there isn’t a next time but, just in case…
