I had no option. At first the ignition switch actuator went, I took that apart and startup with a flat head screw driver while waiting for parts. After a few days of doing that the ole girl didn’t want to start. I knew it was the starter. Lucky I had one laying around from a facebook market deal a few years earlier.
Gotta love it when you already have your parts 'in stock'. Just did 06 front end work from accumulated finds like that.

Yes, but it should read the other way. The error margin was bigger when I had 225’s.
dunno if anyone will call ******** on this but...
my theory is, 07 sticks were incorrectly programmed to think they're running 3.73 gears instead of 3.55. I did some extensive napkin math one year (lots of steady state speeds compared to GPS on my phone), and the error was damn near exactly the error between 3.73/3.55. Also you CANNOT change the tire size on an 07. I tried, I have the PIN code for my ECU, and it still won't let me custom program a tire size. every time I do it defaults to the SMALLEST value and causes a wildly inaccurate speedo... as in a 100mph indicated at 60mph. my only choice a this point, is to run 235/75 or 245/75 sized tires to get the speedo to ready "correctly."

I have a set of 3.73 diffs I can install, but that's a pretty tall job to do for a very small return.

What maintenance did you get done? It is raining for days here in Philadelphia and so no Jeep work is getting done here for a while.
Fluids, filters, winter wipers, tire rotation, Got Khaan! aligned (wasn't off by much, but as you know I abuse the hell out of it), RainX on exterior glass, JBA and ball joint lube on Bert, Old Hippy Stank neutralization, Plugs in the Rubi, Battery contacts cleaning, deep clean of undercarriages, etc. etc.

Well, not to my Liberty.... But to the wife's 94 ZJ...

Finished installing (with my son doing most of the work as he's the pro and it's his work, but me doing all the 'wierd/non standard' stuff) a fresh 4.0 in the wife's ZJ.

It took us a bit, old motor died around the 14th (not completely, but a bad mains knock), we ordered a long block from Oreilly and had it in hand by the 18th. 3 grand, 4 year warranty. Pulled the old motor out on the 20th-21st (about 5 hours of effort) and then it took us the rest of the weekend and a bit into that Monday after work to crossdeck the old parts (tin, distribution, etc), prime the motor, stab the distributor and all. While he was doing that, I went through cleaning the engine bay and undercarriage - evicting Squirrel nest, looking for surface rust and treating the undercarriage to an OSPHO bath. VERY little surface rust. The worst rusted thing was the actual trailer ball on the hitch, and it isn't bad at all. Replace pretty much anything that had to come off the motor from the old one, unless it had been done in the last 3 years. Also got the exhaust good and tight. Between using an unfamiliar MIG, and not thinking to pull the pieces to driver side while tightening them down (and those ****** damn ubolt clamps), the exhaust was lucky it never fell out. Got it all squared and clearanced. Used band clamps where I'd use the ubolt clamps previously. Applied JB Weld epoxy putty where I'd had some porosity making leaking joints. She sounds and runs great now. 60psi of oil pressure.

Saved easily 3 grand in labor charges by my son and I doing it ourselves (plus the fact we got to address all the targets of opportunity, like exhaust, full inspection and OSPHO treatment, etc...

In the last 6.months, my son and I have saved our family EASILY in excess of 10 grand in labor charges by having the ability to DIY.

Next on the ZJ -
-R&R stock D35 (bad axle shaft on D side, bad gear oil leak) with a takeout D44a from a V8 ZJ. Will also go to 4.10 (we went from stock 29s to 31" tires), and disk rear brakes. Yes, VB and MC will be replace then, too, with an ABS delete.

-replace D door panel. Repair wiring as needed. Install alarm with window roll up module (because wife can't be a big girl and close a ******* window...)

-hack and tap SYE, with spare front DC shaft used in the rear.

-other stuff. This has already gone too long.

... And then there's a list for the KJ... Another time.

OOOO... Upcoming this weekend... Steering rack bushings.. Because mine have apparently completely departed....

I have not looked into this specific to the KJ platform, but I'm used to seeing the VSS have a gear drive assembly takeoff of the Trans case that you swap out to address gear ratio changes.

Come to think, my 'before the split' 05 has VSS at the top of the pumpkin.. Disregard

they went to using the ABS sensors for speed measuring, I thought, which should mean gear ratio should have NO effect what so ever on speedo correction, but it's just really REALLY odd that the error on mine is a perfect match for 3.73/3.55

aligning the JL is easy, just need a tape measure and something flat to put on each of the wheels to get your measurements! toe is the only thing adjustable from the factory.

Made sure the battery was fully charged, flipped up the wipers so they won’t be frozen to the windshield, moved shit around so it’s easy to get the Liberty out if I have to go to work. Husband made sure the Cub Cadet is ready with the plow, wheel weights and chains, gas tank is full and the battery is fully charged. Oh, and the cover’s on it to make it easier.

debating trying to get the 65th into running shape for some reason.
needs both cats, I have some used O2 sensors I can stuff in it, has ABS/TC/airbag lights, but no CEL when the cats were in it and working.
also found signs that it had a DUI interlock in it at some point, which might explain the dash emojis.
I could try and sell it for a couple grand.
problem is I wanted it for the 3.73 diffs/axles, and the NP242 transfer case.

Work’s closed. Looks like most are, from the lack of traffic going by. My husband’s been plowing to keep the driveway clear-ish - can’t push the plow crap at the bottom, but at least the rest of the driveway is driveable. He goes out to plow every 3-4” or so.

Yeah, too dang cold here to DIY it, plus I get alignments done at the Local DIY garage, local veteran owned. 75$ with military discount.
My garage is three inches short to fit the Jeeps, so most work is done in the driveway.
