Alright so I took out the parking brake mechanism which was making a clankin noise by hittin the studs. It was completely frozen which caused the failure so I'm running without it until I have time to fix it.

Now I'm gonna do the hub tomorrow (finally) and I just want to make sure the axle nut is a 35 'cause I've read it as both a 35 and 36.

A 36mm works fine, though I think the nut is actually a 35. You'll be fine!

Hot dog!! :head3:

Yep, the black beauty is gonna be sporting 4.10's front and rear thanks to a couple of 4 cylinder KJ donors.

So Tom, how about next Thursday???

Lucky.. I've been trying to find 4.10 axles. None around here. Seems like y'all got em all in Ohio

I found mine by looking on car-part.com. I just searched in the Ohio region, though I found many in other areas of the country. In this case the axle was in Northwest Ohio which is where Tom lives and the price was right so we worked out a way for Tom to pick it up for me after I paid for it. Liberty's don't show up in junk yards very often right around me - they must be shipped out to other parts of the state.

There was one in Cadillac, Michigan with only 9300 miles on it - but I wasn't willing to drive all the way there to save $75 on an axle with lower mileage.

Keep looking - they're out there!

Yeah I've been watching car-part.com for awhile. I've seen plenty of rears, but haven't seen any fronts. However, I just saw a very clean older wrangler (2000ish?) at the dealership this morning when I went by. And it's a manual. Might just have to buy a second toy.
