plow shopping and tire hunting.
looking like it'll be $4500 total for the plow, and another $660+ for tires at least. still will need winter shoes for it as well.

Washed, degreased and prepped the skids for paint. Will start painting in a little bit to get a first coat on. Man the quart of rustoleum gloss black I bought on sale two years ago never ends!

Sent my friend the money to pick up the Tail Lights for me. Hopefully he can get the pig tails too, step one will be for now having the rear fogs as an additional set of running lights, step two eventual conversion to true rear fogs.

painting by hand?

Ya. I found that spray paint just doesn't coat thick enough for protection without using a few cans. Just have to scratch up the surfaces with steel wool or a wire brush before painting. Unless it looked like my front skid which was scratched up enough haha

i see. maybe I should hand paint instead of spray paint.
one of the to-dos in the future.
Are you using any primer or just paint on the roughed up surface?

Well just rough because any rust was removed and bare metal primed previously. These all had some sort of coat on them whether powercoat or previous paint.

Pulled the egr to clean out the soot and verify everything is still working. So far so good, jeep was throwing a p0299 low boost code. Traced it to a busted 3mm vacuum line off the turbo solenoid. Picked up some tubing today, hopefully that will keep the cel off.. Hopefully.

Changed the rear brakes today. Original pads lasted 90k miles. Well, more like 89,800 miles; probably should have changed them last week. :D

Wanted to replace the rear axle wheel bearings but ran out of time. Will have to do that next week. Speaking of which, is there a write up or how to on here for said replacement? Haven't done this before and would like to know what I am getting myself into.

Put in LED bulbs for brake lamps, much nicer at night. Also tightened down the hose on on the air box, adjusted a couple vacuum lines in the engine. Now its quiet as a mouse at idle. I thought the muffler was finally dead, nope. Second gear take off is now prime, when I had to always use first because it would struggle to take off in second, cruising at highway speeds the engine isn't loud either. Idle smooth as butter. Saved a lot what would have been wasted money.
