What did you do to your jeep today?

I did not replace the hose. The clamp on the radiator side looks like yours and was holding firm. The other end had the screw-down hose clamp and had backed off a good inch. The metal underneath was very shiny which is the only reason it caught my eye. I pushed it back in place and tightened it down as much as I dared and it stayed in place for my twenty-minute trip back. I feel like it's a ticking time bomb, though.

If you still have the original Top rad hose,they do expand and may want to "slide" with the ring clamps.
You could try for now to use two ring clamps to ensure it don't move.
I had a bulge in my original hose and was afraid of a gusher and overheating just looking at it.

One day a new top hose and another factory clamp may be recommended.
I did not loose much coolant, jeep was cold and just dropped the rad side hose into a small coffee can.
Got maybe a 3/4 of a can out and then replaced the hose.
I only lost about a quart of Hoat or so in total.

I'm thinking that is a good idea. It fits in my plan to update anything I can anyway.

EDIT: Just ordered the top hose. I'll do the bottom one next time I drain & flush.

The fitting itself was shiny as could be. I'd almost be tempted to give it a very light sanding to add a little more friction. The fact that the clamp has obviously been replaced at some point makes me smell a rat.

I do need to get the thing cleaned out real good, though.

All the dead bugs were jammed under the air box, and were noticed when it got pulled out, guess I should have specified.

Today I installed a new CB radio. Used to have a Cobra 25 LTD Classic, but it was bought used, and it finally crapped out on me after about two years of use.

The new radio is a Midland and has the NOAA weather stations built in. It lacks a 9/19 switch and the stock mic is cheap, but for $45, I'm happy with the purchase. Considering buying an Astatic to replace the cheap mic.

Finally paid off the heep today. It has been 14 years since I haven't had an auto payment. Hopefully the Jeep hangs around awhile. Now to save up a bit to buy a beater DD to relagate the Jeep to wheeling and hunting only. Really want to pick up another Grand Marquis / Crown Vic / Town Car.

Drove it without heat. Damn blend door is stuck good now. Yesterday a little heat today nothing. No hum from the motor. Looks like I'm about to get intimate with my dash. :favorites68:

At least it isn't too cold in the mornings these days. Anyone know if the dial/switch can fail? I'd like to rule out the little things before getting it all apart.

Geez what is this.... Painted spotless intake & TB's day?
I am jealous and envious all in the same moment.
That looks absolutely awesome John & Tom wow that is better than new, so polished!
Mine is dirty gross and runs like a bag of...well you know what I mean.
I noticed today my jeep has a bit of a stumble or shake going on at idle.
Then with the hood open, I could see the vacuum hoses vibrating.
Dang..what's up with my KJ?
I increased the rpm at the TB (2000 rpm) and I could still feel it. eek.

LibertyTC, This winter has been rough on mine, have a lot to do this spring to get it back into shape, complete undercarriage repaint, rock rails, rear bumper , engine is not too bad , needs a little work to get it back into shape Don't look at the wiring, redoing some of it to change some of my lights around.

Or was it still wet..??
Luckily no salt this year on mine. I bet you got a lot of work ahead of washing/paint work to bring it up to your high standards. Hopefully no serious rust is forming on yours.
