Hubby drove it to a class in southern MD.

And the check engine light came on. Someone tell me why the check engine light comes on when he drives one of my vehicles...but never when I'm driving?

got the cv joints in the mail for the front driveshaft....and worked out a deal to get an otc genesis evo diagnostic scanner for the price of $FREE.99.

I am probably going to pull the front driveshaft and rebuild it this week, after I blast and repaint the shaft.

P2096 Post Cat Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1

I cleared the code and watched the fuel trims on the way to/from work...they were identical and normal (Bank 1 vs Bank 2). Code didn't pop back up, but my trip isn't long.

We'll see.

Your husband should buy you a six-pack of beer to make amends. If you're the forgiving type you could give him one.

Must be a common car problem/spouse thing. For instance, I sometimes hear undesirable sounds coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. I never hear it when she's not in the car though.
I'm baffled!! :happy175:

Cleaned all the glass, inside and out. (This is more impressive than it sounds.) I used glass cleaner, then Armor-All Glass Wipes, then a special towel to brush away any lingering lint. That sideways spring equinox sun is less of a threat to me now.

I also used Armor-All Cleaning Wipes and Armor-All Protectant Wipes to clean all the interior surfaces. On a whim, I tried it on the fender flares and it made them look noticeably better. A clean Jeep is a happy Jeep. Vacuuming and a good hand wash will come tomorrow if the weather is decent.

If the rain holds off tomorrow I may remove the roof rack and give it a good going over. I have the 24' Extension for the basket ( Rage Roof Rack Storage Basket ) and it collects water at the seams, leading to rusty water driblets on the roof of the Jeep. I'm going to see if a coating of Plasti Dip over the seams will seal it up. ( http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f222/profdlps-2007-liberty-project-54355/index6.html#post648035 ) I need to (finally) finish Plasti Dip touch up on the new mounting brackets I made last summer and decided I could kill two birds by doing both at once while off the Jeep. As anyone who has ever painted anything knows, the masking-off part is the least fun of the whole deal and I hope to avoid it.

Drove it to the Auto Parts Store picked up a relay for the rear fogs, tomorrow trying to install that relay since the wiring from JC-B1 and the plastic ''guide'' make it next to impossible to install by hand. So the plan is cut the electrical tape move the grey cover off and down a little bit install the relay, re-tape up the wiring in the ''guide'' and see with the relay installed, that by flicking the switch will ''activate'' the Rear Fog signal in the BCM. If so then the final goal is to get a rear wiring harness might have to start looking for parted out CRDs.

Installed new Strong Arm hood lift props, swapped rear rotors/pads and changed PB shoes. Finally fixed front passenger window reg after two years of it being blocked up. Swapped out power window module. Been sitting on the install for my 927s/948s and 90009s/60069s since black friday last year patiently saving another arm and leg. :ROFLJest:

But all has come to fruition, JBA 4.5 UCAs, .5" clevis, bumpstops and 2x upper rear isos per side should be on my doorstep by next week. New wheels/tires too. I'll wait on cut CVs and 4.56s til next tax return. Or something. (Argh)

Apex: Your sig mentions a custom fishing rod rack. Got any pictures of that? I'm looking to do something like that myself. :)

Tomorrow I'll throw it on and take pics, no fishing around here yet. Last year was the beta run and it held up well.

It's actually made out of some 2 x 4s and 1 x 4s that I spanned across the factory roof rails and zip-tied in. I used 1.25" and 1.5" diameter PVC schedule 80, a hinge, hasp, a small lock, and 3 coats of satin black rustoleum. It's just a transportation rig and a template, not really for any sort of security because of the zip-ties but it does hold nicely. Good for to-and-fro but I never left my stuff unattended. I'm fabricating an aluminum one before the start of the flathead season to replace this one, with some SS u-bolts to mount the aluminum strip to the roof rails and much heavier hardware for retention and security. All of my 1st string rods are 7'+ one piece, so no way to fit them inside without poking me or a passenger. I want to be able to forget my Penn rods are on top of my Jeep when I stumble in the house half drunk from catfishing at 4 am and not have to worry about some miscreant stealing them.

I'm planning a 4" PVC tube mounted to the side of my roof basket. I look forward to your pictures. :favorites13:

My setup will invariably be different from yours because of said basket but I'm sure good ideas can be shared. Things to keep in mind though, are rod handle diameter and reel type. I use nothing but open faced spinning setups, and I didn't account for how short the reel foot is on a baitcaster, which is all my brother uses.

My big question is do I use PVC big enough to leave the reels mounted on the rods or just keep them off until I get to where I'm going. I'm leaning toward smaller PVC (4") rather than the 5" I would probably need the other way.

And since I derailed the topic with my questions, I forgot to mention earlier that I installed some battery terminal protectors on my brand new battery and also checked the coolant with a bulb gauge. It says I'm as good as it gets for both boiling and sub-zero temperatures.

Now if only I could fix that lousy TPMS problem. It has now been four full months since the break in and I am beyond exasperated.

Is that T-PMS?

We just leave our ski racks on through fishing season. It clamps them down and holds them tight.
