Drove it across the bay to my FILs house ;)

My BIL is about to sell his early '03 (has the 45RFE) Liberty Limited. Navy blue, sunroof, totally loaded, new radiator, new alternator, 3-yr-old AC compressor. Any interest, let me know and I'll get you in touch with him.

Ran into this on my way home from test driving it after doing the rockers, then today changed the oil and rotated the tires..
So I took it out for a test drive.. just to find this and have to back a quarter mile backwards down a steep snowy narrow hill..
I would've attempted to turnaround, but it would've been like an icy version of Austin powers

I have customers near Genessee and frequently drive from Emporium through Coudersport and then to Genessee. Driving at night I'm always super diligent thanks to all the elk - deer do enough damage but if I hit an elk at 55mph I think the KJ would look like a sardine can. :Insane:

Be careful out there! :waytogo:

Yes best to slow down around serious wildlife areas! Don't hit anything!
Give yourself a chance to hazard avoid/ at slower speeds!
With Bob's lift & sweet ARB front bumper, actually I think you would fare quite well!
BTW this guy needed to avoid to the right!
It may even be way better than this! (this was only a deer)

Now without a lift & ARB..ahhh.....don't ask !

OH WAIT I'm not one of those facebookers :happy175::Insane:

BTW former owner had someone install strange blue coated bulbs in there. Went back through the service records, charged them 31 bucks time and bulbs .
But that was about 35,000 miles ago

I remember back in 07 or 08 mine started blowing the passenger rear turn signal once a week. After the second or third time I put some bulb grease in there and it's been fine ever since. I think I replaced the driver's turn signal bulb once too. And a marker light bulb up front once. Inside just the driver's floorwell light.

And today....hauled home the second Christmas tree of this season with it! Picked the first one up yesterday. Pretty sure it's too big, so might have to go Clark Griswald on it, but that's the fun part!

A few days back I mentioned getting a rental Compass Latitude 4x4 to temporarily replace our deer damaged minivan. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. About a 400 mile round trip. Surprisingly comfortable seats and handled very well, but too small and no storage for this trip. Way less storage than even my 02 KJ. It felt very solid and almost heavy for its size but way underpowered. Fairly quiet ride but there is alot of engine noise when you get into it. I think it's only the 2.0L but haven't popped the hood to check. Climbing up out of Ravine toward Tremont on I81 after some construction (near that Rausch Creek Off-Road park) was a challenge. Think I ran the whole hill at about 4500 RPM just to maintain about 65 mph. Otherwise it was okay. Not bad around town and easy to park. Interior had a lot of similarity to my 2011 Avenger. I personally wouldn't want to drive one on a regular basis but wouldn't have an issue if one of my daughters picked one up. Didn't try the 4x4 but still have it for a few more days. Overall glad I had a chance to try it. I'll give it a three out of five. :winner_third_h4h:

^ Nice review. I'd be very curious to hear your opinion of the 4x4 if you get a chance to run it through its paces.

I felt the exact same way about the one I had for a rental. Felt more solid/sure footed than most vehicles in its class. But seemed a bit unrefined and not in a campy way like the KJ is. As a rental though, great.

The new 2017 ones look awesome I think.

If it has anything in common with the new Cherokees, it'll be a pretty cool Jeep!

Cleaned the oil sludge out of my intake elbow and spiffed up the Flow Control Valve and EGR valve along with its' cooler. Put it all in a box and buried it on a shelf 'cause none of that junk is going back on the thing. Gained a couple square feet of bench.

It's a CRD thing.

Drove it to work! Noticed my exhaust is hitting the skid plate again. Time to take it off and check my spacers which I bet are no longer there.

got it loaded with a pair of garage-in-a-box tents and a 3' rock rake. noticed on the way home it rides a lot smoother with some mass in it. definitely taking a trip out to JBA to get skids now. also want to check and see if the front guard can be made to fit/adapt to me having the plow bracket on the jeep, without too much effort.

edit: how are the side guards? are they worth the $? can they work well enough as a step for shorter people getting in?

More like what have I done in the last 3 weeks, lol. New 245/70/16 Discoverer AT/3. New OME heavy duty springs all around, bilstein front, KYB Monomax rear. 4 wheel thrust alignment. Installed hockey pucks. Changed brake hose on drivers side and flushed brake fluid. Swapped front sway bar links and sway bar bushings. Oil change, transmission fluid and filter.

Took my KJ to the Dodge dealer in Reno, NV (one of them anyway) and had the trailer hitch/gas tank inspection done. All good to go. Stopped at a driveline shop I did business with many years ago to talk u-joints and then to Summit Racing for some after market headlight bulbs (one of my headlights' low beam went out). On the way home, I pulled over and took a nap. My Jeep is very comfortable for napping.

noticed a coolant leak from the water pump. not sure if it is the pump gasket or if the impeller bearing seal is on it's way out. the leak only happens when it sits cold for long enough. picked up a new gasket at napa yesterday as well as some rtv to dress it with.

don't forget the weep hole as well.
if it starts weeping, i believe that's a tell tale sign that it's time to replace the WP.
