What did you do to your jeep today?

It was pretty cold on the garage floor yesterday, but I installed a new OEM rear upper control arm. Was getting that rear rattle just 6 months or so after installing an aftermarket rear upper control arm. The one I removed still seemed "tight", but the rattle is gone so hopefully that was the issue.

BTW I'm loving the studded Grabber AT2's. Really liked the looks and capabilities of the Cooper Discoverer STT PRO's, but they rode very hard and loud. Was planning to go with a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's for my Summer tires, but seriously considering another set of Grabbers instead(non-studded).

Sold Grab AT2s for a while. Only issue, they have rather delicate sidewalls. They did fine on highway, even gravel roads, but guys who took em out on the farm tended to tear holes in the sidewalls.

I'd agree with that, but that's also the reason they ride soooo much better than the Cooper SST Pro's. There's always a tradeoff. If I ran a lot of rocky terrain I might run something different or just have a set of the SST Pro's ready to go on separate rims for those outings. The Grabbers are awesome in the snow as well. Not something you'd want to try with a set of mud tires. Compound is normally too hard and the blocks are too wide to hold the snow.

Look at the Cooper at/3. The tread is quite nice , even has some of the qualities of snow tire

Drove it to work on unplowed roads, picked up my boss (husband drove her in his '99 Dodge Ram 250HD plow truck) and drove up to Baltimore for a pre-bid meeting.

Then drove home on plowed roads....now it needs a wash as soon as the roads dry out 'cause it's WHITE.

I had new OME Nitro shocks (N132) installed in the rear plus new OME 948 rear springs. It drives soooo much better now, especially around corners. Much less body roll and it feels like it grips the road better. Its slightly higher in the rear now, too. The guy who installed them says he had them in his last truck (Toyota Hilux) and drove it all over the top end of Australia without an issue. He says theyre designed for extreme heat so im hoping these corrugated roads i drive on will be no match for them!

Also, I now definitely need a new windshield. the bullseye with a small, but creeping, crack has now gone full width.

If you're asking me no I saved it with the winch but that stump took out another forum members door/window and two of our friends windows. We keep saying we're gonna cut it down.

It's hard to see in the snow but it's a steep hill and when you come around right the it's hard not to slide into it. The pic below I'm coming up instead of going down the same hill.

well it's been a week BUT I installed a new radio in my '06 sport. now I finally have Bluetooth and (for the first time in my life) Sirius! I'm really happy with how it came out. all the wires are tucked and hidden for the microphone and for the XM antenna. I'll post some picture later of the stereo and the location of the antenna and mic.

I now have heated side mirrors.
At first I wasn't sure if they were working as my non-contact thermometer wasn't really showing much of a change, then I put my hand on 'em and YEP THEY'RE WORKING GREAT!

I'l save the old ones just in case. Driver's side is the one I "broke", where I took a chunk out of the housing and broke a clip off the glass retainers. I know if I pitch 'em I'll need 'em in a month.

I was trying to make it to inspection end of next year, but this sucker now crosses completely across. I probably won't do anything about it until march at the earliest. i'm expecting more storms be a'comin'.

Interestingly, this is only the 2nd windshield I've had to have replaced in 26 years and half a dozen vehicles of car ownership.

I've had to replace just one in 47 years of driving and it was in the 04 back in 2006 I think it was . HUGE rock just had to fly back and hit dead center instantly causing a crack all the way across .
