Finally got pictures of my new Jeep being test driven before being loaded on a ship to come here. Dual wheels all around, I think it should do well in the snow

Drove the pee pee out of it :driver: Got stuck behind a semi doing 10 mph all the way through town. As soon as I hit the highway I was bangin gears. My Jeep sounds awesome at 5k rpms :rocking:

Ha! I have noticed since I have less aggressive tires, and replaced my noisy CVs, that I hear the engine growl as I approach 3000 RPM. At first I was like- WTH???!!! Now I welcome it from the mighty 3.7 LOL.

Put tags on it,ouch I sure miss South Dakota, and new plates(Marine Corps plates) but I had to get new plates(another damn $50) since it seems my old plates "did not exist" and have not for the last 4 years.Guess that explains why I couldn't get new tags online for the last 4 years but was never told my plates "did not exist" the last 3 times I came in and bought new tags. Then fought with the DMV again over the Town Car to get the title transferred to my name,no I'm not paying sales tax on a vehicle that already has been sales taxed,I'm not buying the damn car but got stuck paying it off so yes I'm going to drive it.I won but ouch again for paying to register it,at least it was the same cost as my KJ.

Interesting photo
also
Always hang the calipers off of a bungee or wire or something, never let them hang down with the weight on the lines

Got the transmission flushed, filled, new filter. Nothing wrong, just routine maintenance since I've done a fair bit of offroading in the past year, towed the boat to the lake and pulled an 8X12 U-Haul to Nashville and back.

Too cold to work on anything else - might as well do some preventative maintenance while sitting in a warm waiting room :smoke2:

When I got my Jeep back to Ohio last May and had to pay the sales tax they also made me pay tax on the extended warranty I purchased. I pointed out that the tax was supposed to be on the vehicle only and that I could have declined the warranty at the time of the sale, then added it at any time in the next 30 days. They said "If it's on the bill of sale, you're paying." And I did. :mad3:

That's why South Dakota puts right on the title if and how much sales tax has been paid at the time of purchase. They argued but I kept pointing out that I did not buy it,no lien on the title, and the title stated that sales tax has already been paid.Glad there is no "gift tax" here in CO.

Fortunately I did not have to pay sales tax in Virginia where I bought it. I was expecting to pay in Ohio, just not to be taxed on an intangible extended warranty.

Did the 99,000 mile oil change.

Replaced the 3157 incandescent reverse light with a 7w LED CREE "projector" lamp...awesome. It's like there is a 400 lumen flashlight sticking out the back. E-bay...$9.99 + free shipping.

Also, drew up some plans for mounting my 2 jerry cans to the back my roof basket. We will see how it goes...

its just too cold to do anything productive recently. the only thing she got today was gas and some washer fluid, i really want to get painting some stuff, like re bed lining the fenders and bumpers and doing some undercarriage painting like the rear axle and shocks mounts, and put some touch up paint on a couple door dings i got last week, but with a high today of like 10 degrees there's no way any of that paint will go on, i guess i will just hang out and play forza.

Just dug it out! Tough to tell with the wind but somewhere in the 16-20" range. Looked like a giant lump in the yard this morning.
