Same here but I see alot of KJs daily. Mine is about as bland as you can get, but I like it. :emotions34:

I've seen a couple KJ with perhaps a sagging Daystar lift at best, however there are plenty of stock ones rolling around. I think they're all cool.

I saw one yesterday that was an 02-04, dark blue sport all done up with lift and bright red hooks. Pretty sure I could see some red front UCAs at least as we passed. No wave, I was still test driving my daughter's 01 Outback post HGs and timing set (WP) replacement.

My GF sold her old car which had been sitting idle for the past year+. For the first time ever, I had room to park my Jeep in the garage.

Replaced the right rear window regulator clip with a $27 kit from Amazon. Not as nice or smooth as the Steiger clip I put in the left rear a few years back, but easier on the wallet and did the job. Threading the clip onto the cable definitely required grinding down the end of the cable, plus a realigning of the first hoop on the clip with needle nose pliers after an initial failed attempt.

Ran out of daylight with too many other projects on the plate to get to replacing the transfer case shifter, I'll probably get a start on that tomorrow, but at least now I can drive and park the Liberty without worrying about someone noticing they can freely browse through the contents of the interior looking for items of interest, or any critters discovering the interior makes a fine nesting ground.

finally got around to installing my Mopar trailer hitch wiring harness (PN 82207248AB) but realized after getting it all installed that I need some type of mounting bracket for the plug to hang onto underneath by the hitch, as this was not included with the Mopar kit. anybody have a recommendation for this?

What does it look like? Is it just the plug end?

My aftermarket wiring has just the plug end. What I do is weave it through one side of the ring on the hitch, then through the other side ring and use the attached cap to hold it on. Been like that for over three years and still works every time I've needed it, including two weeks ago.

Yea. Every time I looked on eBay it was never listed. I emailed places like depo and another site because it said out of stock. This is the first time I’ve seen them or st least smoked available since I picked up my ‘02
I wanted clear ones for the silver 03 and smoked for my black 02
They have the clear for sale too. If it doesn't pop up just let me know I'll get a link.

I think it doesn't show up because they put Cherokee in the title since these are euro spec housings and the Liberty called a Cherokee outside the USA.

Changed the oil & filter and checked all the fluids. We're taking it out to IL for a 3-day trip shortly and I wanted it to be prepared...and we're getting rain and rain/snow/yuck tomorrow and Wed.

Got mine back from my daughter yesterday and drove it today for the first time in a couple weeks. Felt just like the old days,,,, Good times. She can keep the Subaru.

Finally found out why it has been burning even more oil than usual lately (around a quart every 300 miles)...
The cold weather causes more of the milky gunk to build up in the oil filler tube, and it had worked its way into the small passageway that the PCV valve goes into, completely clogging it. Whenever I cleaned out the gunk in the past, I guess I just didn't notice that it was so deep in that small hole as well.

Looks like it's time to buy the parts for the PCV conversion.

Put the parts wagon in the shop (04 Renegade).

Proceeded to pull off the skidplates, hitch, and front driveshaft. Hope to get the tcase and rear end out over the next few days.

If you were going to pick a model year liberty to use as an infrequent spare car and plowing rig...
what year would you pick?
would you look for one with the NP242 t-case?

I'm finding a couple in the $1000 range, across the 02-07 model years, that I could pick up.
When summer hits (and prices on SUVs traditionally depress) I seriously want to make this happen.

Semi-related... if someone cracked the trans pan, lost all the fluid (i'm assuming while driving), would that toast the transmission? Is there any chance just replacing the pan, filter, and filling it back up would make it good to go?

I'd just go with whatever is the least beat in that price range. Wouldn't care about year or tcase.

For the trans, I'm not sure. My XJ blew a ****** cooler line last summer, it was driven for about 2 miles ish. Judging by what it took to refill it, it lost about 1/2 of its capacity. Seems just fine now.
