Being that you are running a turbo diesel, you should consider using a vacuum pump for the pcv system. On my ram I just gutted the pcv valve and then plumbed in a check valve in the engine breather that closes when a vacuum is drawn. And then hook up the vacuum pump to the now gutted pcv valve.Mounted my Provent air/oil seperator using Sasquatch's great kit. My planned hosing would have been a mess in a crowded engine compartment.
Maybe someday Sasquatch will make an entire Jeep, done right. Put me on the list!
It actually has something like that going on. The vacuum pump lies deep in the engine and exhausts inside the block. The extra pressure exhausts through a flapper valve on top of the camifold which is called "the hockey puck". Oily exhaust goes from the hockey puck to the air inlet hose which it rots a hole in. The oily air continues to the turbo which pumps it into the intercooler where it accumulates. A lot of the oil coats and chokes the intake where it combines with raw exhaust gasses making the world a better place. The Provent intercepts the oily air from the hockey puck and seperates the oil out passing cleaner air to the intake hose which improves everything downstream.Being that you are running a turbo diesel, you should consider using a vacuum pump for the pcv system. I ended up changing the heater core, took me 8 hours. I tried all the simple and easy things before replacing it, more than once I’ll have you know. No more smell or foggy windows..yay.Mine is a 2007 as well and that's what I had to do. Long, long story, but it was 8F out and I had to get my water pump in. That part went easy. Filled it up with coolant and drove around the block to get the bubbles shaken out. Saw the temp keep climbing (very bad for the 3.7) and killed the engine to coast down the hill home. Got it leveled out and it was still full to the radiator cap. Ran inside, asked some questions here, then was told to do what I suggested earlier. I drained the coolant, popped the top end of the lower hose, then filled the hose straight from the jug. Reattached the hose, filled the rest and tested it.
But, if you're getting coolant bleeding at the top I'd go with what Leeann said - you probably just still have a lot of gunk in there. Chances are that someone used non-HOAT coolant at some point (which is what killed my water pump...) which makes a sandy sludge over time. Flushing it out is like rinsing sand out of a drain pipe - very slow going.
And ironically, the non-HOAT was in mine because when I bought it used I took it out a week later and had the radiator flushed at one of those fast-lube places. The guy swore that what he used was factory-OK. It wasn't.
When I want to blind oncoming drivers, or freak out people in front of me who aren't paying attention b/c I can see them staring at their phones, I use the light bar.You will find it does not blind oncoming drivers with lows & fogs on.
However cause I'm well lifted, I stay a bit further back from a car directly ahead.
The extra light easily fills the entire car and is super bright on cars mirrors ahead at night.
