Yes!

If you know you're vehicles will be parked for periods of time, put them on a charger! I've got one for my truck, I usually remove the battery and store it in the garage when I go away for work. Just store the battery off the ground (On a table or shelf) and leave it on the charger. It will keep the battery maintained.

it's at the shop again. Was troubleshooting the TC issues yesterday with a borrowed code reader. Trying different suggested things to narrow down possibilies.

Put it in 4-low and it wouldn't disengage. Had to drive about 10 miles back into town on the shoulder at 12 mph. Got about 6 new codes, so maybe that'll help them figure it out.

Probably should have driven it into the river....

I miss the KJ:(

MarksmanAkula,

I am brand new to Jeep ownership but is this a normal thing in Jeeps for batteries to discharge or die that quick? Sounds like the parasitic draw is way too high. I have a GM plow truck with a walmart battery, only use it in the winter to plow when it snows, start it once in the summer and run it for 30 minutes. Have not had to jump it in a couple years.

In my case, my battery will be six years old next month. I busted my leg a year ago and couldn't really drive it for three months. This started the battery on a downhill slope. Then the Wuhan Flu hit and there was nowhere to go. The only reason I don't just replace the battery now is that I don't want to kill a brand new one, since who knows when we will ever (if ever) get back to normal.

Mark, Get the battery load tested. Always try to find an 800+CCA battery.
AGM (absorb glass matt) are better batteries and last a very long time.
My Odyssey is 9+ years old and still fires it up. It was parked for 40 days this year while I was away still connected, & Jeep fired right up.

Oh no, they dont die quickly. Its just a habit of mine, when I go out of town, I put my batteries on a charger. So if need be I can use my vehicles right away once I get back

Where I am in PA is 12-18 inches predicted. That’s not Philly. I went winter camping!

The setup back in October. (No pics yet this trip but I’ll keep you updated!)
