I used a propane torch on the job I needed it for. got it hot enough to loosen, and that's all I cared about. it DID kill the sensor though, so keep that in mind.

Yup, this O2 sensor is already malfunctioning so I don’t really mind if I destroy it. I just need it out without messing up the threads in the exhaust. I will plan to use anti-seize on it when reinstalling the new one.

Bought some new bulbs today - thought I would experiment with making a new harness with larger gauge wires, so I bought a few connectors and pulled the pins out and soldered on some 14g wiring instead of the 18g that the factory uses. Plan is to use the factory wires to turn on a couple relays that will supply power directly from the battery to the lamps through a higher amperage fuse than the stock ones. I know that the lamp does not draw more amps than what the factory fuse is rated for but this is more of an experiment than anything else. Also if I wanted to try some higher wattage bulbs down the road the wiring will be able to support that. Just need to find a decent high output bulb - the few reviews I have seen for the Hella 80/100 bulbs have not been good - but those were also a different bulb (H4 I think).

I put some of these in not long after i bought my jeep. Very nice.

I hit a tote on the highway last night. It was black and appeared out of nowhere, someone was beside me, and a guy was right on my bumper. I centered it and smoked it going about 55. The guy behind me backed off real quick!

Installed my new bulbs and harness last night - the bulbs definitely have more output than the old Hella bulbs that I had previously - I tried taking a picture of the 2 different bulbs against the shop door at night, but you could not see a difference in the photo. The Philips bulbs for sure are better than the Hella's so that side was a win - weather or not the wiring wiring made a difference, it was a fun project.

Just a FYI - "Front End Suspension Noise" - Don't have Grease Fittings!

I had a growing amount of front end noise when hitting bumps or turning the (L) wheel either way, - power steering fluid was low, filled it, just a little improvement.

So I took it to the "geniuses" at Midas and they said the left driver's side FE needed replaced for a charge of 7K - I only paid $1500 dollars for it, they gave this sales pitch it was that it was so bad they wouldn't even raise it on a lift - which I thought was total BS.

I'm old enough to remember you can grease the FE and did so at every oil change which was standard procedure in the '70s, - until manufactures had the "brilliant" idea of not putting grease fittings on essential FE linkage, ball joints, tie rods, etc - (Deep Sarcasm)

I went to my local small garage and they laughed at what the "boys" at Midas said, and told me all was tight, and just needed a little greasing, - like my old body needs too - LOL

I did my research and found out that you can grease a FE with a needle grease attachment into the boot, so I called my "trusty" local small oil change place and they had all the equipment to do it.

They did it in about 15 min without charge because I'm a loyal customer, and wouldn't take anything I offered - it was all amazing and she rides 100% better - the turning and bump noise is gonzo - Here is a Youtube video that shows how to do it and there are kits on Amazon for the needle grease attachment to a regular grease gun.

I use high rated Amazon parts at a fraction of OEM BS parts

Just my .02 cents of advise for the day - your results may vary!

Completed all the welding ready for inspection today. The tin worm has eaten the sills badly, I'm putting patches over old patches, ugly as sin! Time for all new steel in the summer, I'm not willing to start that game on my drive in the middle of winter.
Annoyingly I did all this on my other Jeep a few years ago.

Inspection all done and passed, to celebrate the Jeep rear window mechanism broke :-(
This close to Christmas parts are going to be a long time coming and with rain on the way I did a quick fix, 3 tywraps joined together looped round the bottom of the glass clamp stuffed through 2 handy holes in the inner door frame. Window glass is up and solid until I can get onto it.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. My father in law held the window glass up in his Buick LeSabre one time using a cut-to-length piece of 2x4. Fixed it a couple of weeks later when the regulator became available.
