07' has 3k intervals. Though I used to run it to 5 because I did mostly ''highway'' driving so the engine wasn't stressed. I jumped back to 3k intervals due to all the city driving I do now.

Geez, 29,900 on an 04. Pretty impressive. Can't you just go with the Moog's from RA? They range from about 30-35 bucks apiece for the coupe to 40-50 for the convertible. Looks like the Mopars are only about 50 apiece.

That's what I was looking at. No idea why the convertible is more money, but that's what she has.

It started life as her sister's beach car, only driven when they were in OC.

I was trying to figure out the coupe/conv difference too. They only have one listed for the Mopars???

Found a blue 05 today on CL with a rod-thru-block 3.7 for $350.00. Gonna be hard not to buy that just for an investment. Original owner 200,000mi.

Oil/filter change on the Patriot, while it was on the ramps I hit all the exposed threads with a layer of white lithium grease. Maybe if I do that once a year things will come apart when I want them to. The salt around here reeks havoc on everything.
Vacuumed the Liberty and washed the windows too.

Started mine and checked all the fluids. Smooth as silk. Sort of parked at the moment until I can get some tires. Slow leaks in two and getting the cracking around the tread/sidewall. Guess 90k from a set of tires isn't bad.

Wow, that there is a keeper! :favorites13:

I thought I was lucky with my 01 Outback that had 42k on it a couple years back. Unfortunately it came from Owego NY with salt galore. Slowly replacing all sorts of things. :favorites68:

I always look at it as, any used car you can buy for cash, you should be banking the monthly payment you AREN'T making to cover repairs for the next couple years. Cars... you WILL pay one way or another.

Tried to tell the ex-wife that once lmao. "My Jeep saved us a lot of money, went a whole year and nothing broke. I wanted to show the Jeel how much we appreciate looking out for us, so I spent $3800 building axles and buying new tires." Yea...it sounded good on paper, but that shit didn't fly 10 feet.

Sent from my G870a on 38's.

Hockeygoon, do you run oil in it? On the 4th engine in less than 90k miles ain't so good.

Typical Dodge product.

The original engine was throwing metal shavings with every oil change. Shop put it in a lift and you could hear the rods knocking from the bottom side of the engine. Tore it down and the rod bearings looked like they 200k+ miles on them - all were scarred and worn heavily. The rest of the engine was near perfect - no sludge, no deposits, no excessive wear. Debated polishing the crank, new rod bearings and reringing it but the mechanic was reluctant to try it - he said without know what caused the damage to the rod bearings I could get a repeat issue. Now I wish I would have gone that route.

Dropped in a used engine with a warranty - started it and it was only hitting on 5 cylinders. Pulled the valve cover and one rocker arm was broke off and the engine was packed with sludge. Pulled it and dropped in a remanufacutered engine with a 100K warranty. Changed the oil at 500 miles and there was metal in the oil - figured it was just part of the break in process. Changed the oil at 3000 miles and there was a **** load of metal and some antifreeze (the reserve tank was low).

Holy melt down! That is the worst coil pack I've even seen!
How long were those plugs in for? I don't even see a center electrode!
That must have been fun to remove!

Drove mine to the shop again. About to have its 4th engine installed with less than 90,000 miles.
That is really bad luck or..
What route are you going to take now?
If mine ever goes, I think I would have a pro engine building shop, tear it down and rebuild it.
Hopefully that way everything is measured /inspected and replaced as necessary, with a decent warranty.
