I think you're better off pulling the sender, replacing it with a proper oil pressure gauge, and spring for one with a low pressure alarm.

A year ago I had back surgery and unfortunately the same symptoms showed up again 2 weeks ago - the main reason I haven't posted anything about "what have I done to my KJ today..."

I travel a lot and my back couldn't take my recent trips in the KJ - the seats just don't work for me during long days in the saddle. So it was time to look for something for road trips so I can keep the KJ for off road fun.

Today I drove the KJ to a local dealer and we added a 2006 BLACK Jeep Commander Limited with the 5.7L Hemi to the Jeep stable. It's loaded with every option that came on it that year, only 105,000 miles and not a blemish on it. Driver's side mirror needs replaced but the dealer is taking care of that. Brand new shoes all around, new front bearings, UCA's and detailed interior. I've only driven it about 75 miles so far - I'll keep you posted as I break it in...

Man that is beautiful. Always wanted a Commander. Ended up with the LR3 then the WK. Looks like you've got the off road package!

May be true but I really am done with big purchases
Maybe just minor things but there's literally nothing else I could get for it nor would want to do to it
Finally happy with the way it looks with the new tires/wheels

if they'd made the 5.7 commander with the 6spd behind it, I would have bought that instead. Only way to get the commander with a stick was with the same 3.7L engine, and the commander weighs 800 to 1200 pounds more.

Commanders never came with a stick I don't think lol. Either had the Mercedes trans or 545RFE if a V8.

Congrats Bob, Wow nice ride for sure... what you wanted a 4x4 hemi powered rocket ship?
I assume it is leather seats, heated mirrors & seats etc?
Can you post a few interior pics?
Maybe one from under the hood, so I can  over the hemi !!

Shhhh. What if his wife sees this thread? We don't want to blow the cover off his scheme, do we? :icon_razz:

I might try that for my tires and wheels. "Hey, honey - the doctor says I need new tires. RIGHT NOW." :D

Jim, you're right about the seats. But it has become harder for me to stretch out the way I need to in order to get comfortable. And with the amount of crap I need to carry with me on road trips anymore for business...

Prof, the thing is my wife has caught the Jeep bug in a big way and she was the one who pushed for me to find something bigger and more "supple." She's just worried I won't be able to contain myself and put a lift on the Commander, and add tires, and...

She knows me too well :smokin:

I start PT next week - mandated by insurance before they'll agree to an MRI. But my surgeon told me after my surgery last year that the condition of my back means I'll likely need another session in the operating room in the future :favorites68:

Well it's finally that time to share my KJ with you guys
I've had my tires/wheels installed now for 2 days and I absolutely love them
Much more stable ride, great grip and of course I had to get everything that people say not to regarding tire/wheel size :happy175:
Hope you enjoy the final result of my project- here's a 360 (somewhat) view:

The stance is perfect and the KJ finally looks like a Jeep!
All that is needed for the 31s is to shape the fender-well a little because it gets close at sharp turns up front but no rubbing- no power loss that I've noticed yet either so we'll see
Guy who did my alignment today thought I had MTs
