ohio guys, this is probably old news for you but just in case its not

2003 Jeep Liberty CUSTOM OFF ROAD

Yes old news, I've/we've done a ton of work on that thing over the years.
Thats my friend Chris' ( 03CDKJ)
Would be a good buy since he just did a ton of things to it before he bought his new Ram Rebel beast of a truck

i figured, just for the bumper, roof rack, moabs, rear JBA springs,JBA UCAs, OME front, rear 4.10s and the grunt work of the front diff already being out it seems like a steal

.... and for the sake of the thread today i cleaned the inside, and also noticed its gear hunting more in od all of the sudden even though ive had the bigger tires and heavier wheels on for a while with no problems until now

Oh he found their forums a week before he bought it and found out how to control the adjustable suspension for even more height.
Thing is huge when comparing to a KJ

This may seem like small potatoes for most of you, but today I started my Libby for the first time in a week!

New valve cover gaskets, swapped out almost the entire crankshaft ventilation system with a custom rig until the Mopar parts get here. Still seeing oil burn off coming from the valve covers, but unsure if there is still a continued leak down there as of now, or if it is burnoff of additional buildup that I couldn't suction out while I was working down there.

Having done this, an oil change seems like no big deal at this point, lol.

P.S. The regulars in this forum are awesome, so thank you to everybody that has responded to me! Gonna take the Libby for a short test drive around the neighborhood to see how things are holding up.

Wish we had White Castle up here, their mozzarella sticks are the bomb, nice and greasy. Their coffee is actually decent too, better than Starbucks to me.

RnR both outer Tie-Rods. rubber was torn but they had no play. When I removed them, they were very loose & dry. good thing the rubbers broke first! Not bad for 150k miles in NYC/PA.

I cleaned the boots on the inner tire rods -very carefully!
Bought the nuts for my new Walker Muffler Tail pipe.

Went for a drive!

Haven't posted up in this section in a little while so:
Painted all gray plastic black a couple weeks ago
Applied Wipe New to all interior dash/trim
Undercoated one more time before winter
Pounded the pinch welds over today as well as an alignment since I haven't gotten one in a while

Really liking how the KJ is coming along, but no pictures until I get my beastie tires and new wheels :emotions34:
I have new lug nuts on the way as well as some valve stems- next is to order the tires/wheels once they forecast snow

I think when I get everything put on I'll finally be happy with her and there won't be any more upgrades to do.. we'll see how long that lasts

*Tires have been ordered*

Is a NAPA belt and tensioner as good as any? Have there been instances of broken tensioners? I have replaced my belt 1 time on my 2003 KJ. Would replacing the tensioner be a good idea for preventative maintenance? Thanks.

Just wanted to ask, I'm sure you know but many dont..
When you put the new ones on did you count the number of exposed threads before taking off the old ones?
Changing the length of the outer tie rods on the inner would adversely affect your toe alignment specs if changed..
Even if you did, just thought I'd ask :party52:

I always run their best one.
Yes there have been cases of bearings going bad, tensioners lose strength over time etc
Yes replacing one is very good preventive maintenance.
On my 04 for example with 221,000 miles I replaced it 4 times. Then keep the old one under the back seat in case of emergency.
Didn't ask but,......As far as accessory belts , mine get replaced ever 50,000 at least.
