Ran to North Carolina and back and looked at a bunch of very low KJs as I passed them , none lifted at all out of maybe 25 or so. .
Coming north on 77 up out of NC passed 3 lifted JKs , I was running about 75 and they were doing maybe 50 up the hill .
( I-77 makes a six-mile hill-climb of over 1,500 feet, with a grade of not over 4.5%, commencing one mile north of the North Carolina border, The top of the climb on I-77 is a summit called Fancy Gap, and is over 3,100 feet elevation.)

I was coming out of the Flying J Truck Stop in Wytheville when they pulled in, wanting to know if I had a V-8 in that " little Liberty " :happy175:
One guy said he had his flat on the floor and at the top was doing 40 mph, I think they need some deeper gearing :happy175:

I can still get above and maintain 40mph climbing up to Eisenhower tunnel which is over 11,000' in a 6400lbs KJ,stock engine.

Think they need to figure out how to use that skinny pedal on the right.

why were you paying for the trailer to begin with. if it wasn't your shit you were hauling, as soon as uhaul asked for money I'd be looking at the person i'm with with the look of "I ain't whipping it out."
Cause I'm an idiot I guess. Lesson learned.

Right. But I thought that was common sense.

Guess not.

It's not like he forgot. He was with me when I picked the trailer up. And got gas. Come on. Don't make me ask...

Common decency! Not so common any more.

I look back at all the times I helped people move and regret it a bit. NEVER had any help with any of my many moves.

You're not an idiot... just too nice!

Yes they were younger newbies but with deep pockets from the looks of it . 37s and stock gearing though on two of them

Drove it for the first time in several days. Worried the belt will break (there's a chip out of it and the pulley on the A/C is rattling). There's a fire raging about a mile up the hill from me and smoke everywhere, so I've been sweating it out at home. But I had to go out to get a hot meal because even toast in my tiny apartment raises the temperature (it was 92 in here yesterday). While I was waiting for my Ranchers Burger & Onion Rings, there was a worn & tired fire crew checking out my KJ and telling me what a nice ride I had. Wish I coulda paid their bill for all the hard work they've done the last 8 days.

For grimy greasy metal objects, I soak/use LPS PreSolve Link: http://www.lpslabs.com/product-details/594
Then a good power washing. Final detailing by hand on black plastics/hoses etc with Mother's back to black.

Yes Jim but it was 8 years ago, and none of the links work anymore so...
I installed a 10" waterproof 15 LED along the firewall ($16) white.
Came with 3M self adhesive backing which connected also to a separate fused, waterproof switch..all supplied by bluewater LED.

I threw $363.74 on the counter to have my A/C compressor/clutch, refrigerant hose, accumulator, belt tensioner and serpentine belt replaced, an oil & lube and a 5-tire rotation done. All labor except for hazmat and R134A. I bought all my own parts and fluids, otherwise. Seems like an awful lot, but it's all good now.
