A guy I work with said after returning from lunch today, "your Jeep kinda dwarfs my truck (06 is Chevy 1500)" I said, "yup, it's pretty rad" and mine is a pretty tame build compared to some of yours.

Fitted new transfer case switch - Woohoo it works

Gave her a new set of rubber mats

Replaced the missing swing up number plate holder and threw away the spare tire cover, it had shrunk so badly I had to cut it off :)

Also got some other goodies from RockAuto, new rear LCA's (Moog), PCV valve and a set of parking brake shoes and fitting kit, gonna be a busy weekend.

I hate it when I'm left with more questions than answers.
Pulled the front driveshaft just now, to replace the rear joint.
When I started unbolting the front joint from the diff, it started weeping, and it smells like gear oil. Do I need to consider fixing something else now?
eta: also, it appears to have a greenish tint.

Mine did that too, but it was otherwise clean inside so I chalked it up to left over assembly lube.

I swapped my ND plates for MN plates. Still waiting for a day off to coincide with nice weather so I can do my rear window regulators.

Mine also weeped (wept?) a little bit. Pretty sure it's normal. If it's not a serious leak then nothing to worry about.

I often chalk very slow leaks to the fact that this thing is 15 years old...I've tried to keep up replacing bad seals and what not but I just don't have the time.

"Wept" is correct... one could also state that "It was weeping" and that too would be correct.

A little weeping, or seeping is generally OK, but a sign that you need to watch it, whether it be the water pump (I'd start buying replacements if I saw any fluid escape from this part though), power steering pumps and hoses..

But cooling and brake fluid, those I'd always address no matter how slight it is.

*I plan to see how the weather holds out this Sat... try to put my OME lift on. Everything is preassembled, just have to pull out the old and put in the new, then take it down for the alignment. I'm hoping it doesn't take me more than a few hours. I think the rear will go quick.

Then let's hope the heavy rain holds off.. how bad was everyone's alignment post lift, before you took it to be re-aligned?

Alignment is pretty wackadoodlely after initial install, but it'll drive well enough to go to the alignment shop. I had to drive mine over 70 miles and it wasn't bad, wan6t good either.

Good to hear.. My front camber is already off a couple degrees from the suspension sagging more since last alignment anyhow... my lower control arms angle UP towards the wheel hubs! lol. It's that bad.

Perhaps after lifting, my camber will actually be closer to spec!

I'm thinking of using a basic shop near me.. it's kind of old school, they still manually measure alignments, no computer/laser alignment. I'll have to call around today and see who charges what and if they foresee issues because of the lift (shouldn't, but shops are often morons when it comes to that).

Trying to decide if I'm annoyed or not. driving the jeep without the front driveshaft, and the vibration that I was feeling coming from the right front corner has disappeared. Could it be the rear joint on the drive shaft all along? I guess we'll find out once I finish rebuilding the drive shaft and reinstall it. Reason I might be annoyed, cuz I've been buying parts to fix the right front corner!

Best gig for me is my dealer...never given me any issues with the lift. $40 and an hour later it's done. They only charge me for a front wheel alignment since you can't adjust the rear.

($#)_%$*#)_*#)_%*# driveshaft head caps won't stay on the $)(#)$(#$ joint! I can't get the shaft reinstalled because of this.

I tried giving the cap a tap along the outer ring, and it deformed now.

eta: going to try some zip ties and see if I can't keep it together long enough to get it lined up, then crush it down with the bolts into the t-case.

ok. got it in. learned that the diff bolts and the t-case bolts are different sizes, and used the longer diff bolts to start the t-case side, then used them to draw the joint into place, along with some "persuasion".
