They're the ones who are supposed to fix mine tomorrow,,, :blah:

The PO (my best friend and her husband) had the windshield replaced at the Safelite here in town because it was cracked badly by a stone on the way here from MI.

It cracked immediately - without being touched, even - so Safelite had to replace it in less than a week.

When I touched it to install an EZ-Pass a year later (and I do mean touch - I didn't push at all) it cracked all around the EZ-Pass. The crack is spreading. I'll replace it sooner or later, but a local glass co. will do the work, not Safelite.

Me too. Had a few on different vehicles replaced and no problems. KJ has had a crack (half round) comes up from the cowl, to the wiper and back down. Been there for several years and never progressed. Another softball scar.

Sorry, it was a good story. I'm just trying to find a laugh where I can these days.

We used to lol. I've been pimpn' since been pimpn' since been pimpn', and it ain't take long to figure things out. Not sure what it is about the river at 3am, but next thing you know she's got her clothes hung up on a tree. [emoji817]

GOOD THING???? You may like Big Brother deciding what's best, but I'd still rather live in a (relatively) free state!

Bob

Unfortunately, this 'free state' has NO safety inspection/emissions inspection so if any ****** yahoo Okie can get a junkyard beater to 'run', he/she can operate it on public highways at speed replete with belching, unmuffled exhaust, shattered window glass (or plastic garbage bag), unaligned squealing front tires scrubbing rubber, bouncing buggy worn-out shocks, and emissions equipment 'fixed' by plugging/removal...'free' to kill his family or mine, pollute the air my children breathe, and drive my insurance rates through the stratosphere, 'free' to be ignorant, greedy, and stupid...and saddest of all, 'free' to solve all his problems with a gun...

I'm not so sure about that. I'm on my third windshield and this one has 2 chips in it now. All from rocks

I got one the first night with my Libby. I waited till spring time and used Fix a Windshield which 85% fixed it. It repaired the chip at the top layer but the cracks ran deep to the second layer of the windshield. I've thought about trying to figure out how to use it on the inside to see if I can finish the repair.

Got a new windshield in mine back in 07 I think he was, 3 days later while checking fences on the farm branch came up over the ARB and smacked the windshield right at the bottom middle ways. Came up about 4 inches then started towards the drivers side , still like that 8 years later
Gives her some class ...............even though she needs some new glass

I've been tempted to find a cracked windshield to try a hack that most claim don't work using salt, rubbing alcohol, bug repellent and water.

^ha ha... First time I heard that one!! Class = Broken Glass!!:icon_lol:
Here the cops consider it a safety hazard, and can order you to get a new one!

If you can get here before tomorrow afternoon you can try it on mine. :mexsmoke:

I'm in no shape to drive long distance, I missed work today as it is with the weather changing, sinuses are in overdrive. I took a drive to pick up meds today and eat that was about it also picked up some Risoline Engine Treatment which I threw in giving a trial and error on if this stuff actually works. I'm always insanely skeptical of most aftermarket engine treatment stuff but also sometimes it takes more than one addition to take care of issues. Like I know I will need to run another flush since it did immensely help clear out a lot sludge in the engine. But there is still sludge in there.

Using salt, rubbing alcohol, bug repellent and water to repair windshield ...interesting!
There are a few youtube videos, but the ones I saw, say it don't work.
I wonder if there may be a specific mixture to obtain correct results?
Time to call Myth Busters!

Half the problems is that people are more into dispelling this stuff because they didn't think of it. More or less I think that if done in proper set up with a few trial and error runs you are making a type of resin using the salt to crystallize. Which is why I want to give it a shot. I'll admit I was skeptical as hell on Fix a Windshield and bought it in the belief I was wasting my money. But I'll take the fact it did a damn descent okay job. The only way you can tell I have a rock chip is if you sit inside on the driver side. You can see the cracks on the bottom layer but looking outside, unless you put your eye to the glass you can't tell.

Sounds like it was a hard hit and the Jeep windshield is pretty tough!
I would rather have a rock hit than have one of these hit the windshield! :Nonono::jawdrop:

It is Fall &...Safe Driving To ALL !!

Bought my jeep in the contiguous states and put 6000 miles on it getting home. Two weeks later moose busted the driver's mirror. Just the glass; mirror folded back.

Did a simple camo paint job on my harbor freight knife. You guys got a good spot in the jeep to store this thing. Maybe in arms reach.
